IT'S TIME FOR CHANGE IN CLARINGTON

It’s time for new people with new ideas on Clarington Council. As Ward 3 Councillor, I would leverage my rich experience living and volunteering in this community to bring fresh perspectives and ideas that are relevant to the needs of the people who live here. The past several years have seen massive change, and we need to ensure that we navigate the future of Clarington in a way that addresses local economic challenges and issues in a positive way.

MEET GLENN BASWICK

I am a driven community builder, having lived and contributed to Clarington for over 27 years. I currently live with my wife on the east side of Bowmanville. Since retiring from General Motors after 26 years of service, I have found my passion in community planning and politics. I view the role of a local councillor as an obligation to  be a voice for my constituents to all levels of government.  As your Ward 3 councillor I will build on my experiences here and make Clarington the best place to live.

ON OCTOBER 24th ELECT GLENN BASWICK

Create jobs and grow our local economy

Support existing and attract new local businesses, protect the larger companies that have chosen to operate here, work towards attracting new large companies to the area, and elevate Clarington as a tourism destination.

Lower property taxes

Ensure no increases in what we pay while finding efficiencies that will be put towards improvements for high level service. Focus on making sure that our Council is taking advantage of every Federal or Provincial resource offered to this community.

Improve community safety

Focus on building and improving protective measures such as emergency services.  Decrease community risks by addressing mental health issues and the opioid crisis making Clarington a healthier, stronger, and safer community.

Affordable housing for seniors

Seniors downsizing need smaller homes to be included in new developments. This housing crisis will require multiple solutions. In addition to increasing the number of retirement and long-term care spaces, seniors need access to accessible housing.
